Through his X (formerly Twitter) account, Ice Universe revealed that the Galaxy S25 Slim could come with an “Ultra” camera. What does this mean? If this information turns out to be true, it suggests that Samsung plans to make the camera one of the device’s standout features. Of course, this would be in addition to its main feature: a thinner-than-usual design.
Given that the term “Ultra” refers to the camera, it’s hard not to think of the camera system on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Without this connection, it wouldn’t make much sense to name it “Ultra.” This suggests that while Samsung might cut back on things like battery size, screen quality, and other features, it could prioritize advanced camera sensors to appeal to photography enthusiasts.
However, the final design of the Galaxy S25 Slim might not be as sleek as expected. An advanced camera with “Ultra” features usually means larger and bulkier sensors, which doesn’t align well with the “Slim” part of its name. Unless Samsung can significantly reduce the thickness of the camera module, the phone could end up with a noticeable bulge on the back to accommodate all the components.

The news about the Galaxy S25 Slim isn’t all positive. Leaked information suggests that this device will have a separate launch from the main S25 series. The most likely release window is between April and May 2025, about 4 to 5 months after the first Unpacked event of the year.
The launch of the Galaxy S25 Slim could actually coincide with the debut of the upcoming foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, which are expected to be released in early to mid-summer. So, if you were hoping to see the slim version alongside the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra to help with your buying decision, it seems that won’t be the case.
