The LinkedIn profile of Diablo 4’s Senior Product Manager (previously found at linkedin.com/in/harrison-froeschke, but now seemingly deleted) briefly revealed how much revenue Diablo 4 has earned so far.
Harrison Froeschke likely intended to highlight his accomplishments, but unintentionally leaked a figure that Blizzard would have preferred to keep private. Diablo 4 has reportedly generated over a billion US dollars in sales.
Previously, we were aware of the 666 million US dollars, a figure Blizzard itself announced, stating it was made within six days of the release, including pre-orders. However, no further updates were provided after that.
150 million US Dollars from Microtransactions
Although most of the revenue seems to have come from direct game purchases, the impact of microtransactions should not be overlooked.
Harrison Froeschke also revealed this on his LinkedIn profile, mentioning that around 150 million US dollars were generated through microtransactions in Diablo 4.
How Successful Is Diablo 4 Financially?
The question now is whether one billion US dollars can be considered a success. The fact is, these numbers are likely accurate since they come directly from a Blizzard employee.

Since Blizzard had already raised 666 million US dollars through pre-orders and within the first week of release, the remaining 334 million US dollars were earned over the next 15 months. This amounts to roughly 22 million US dollars per month.
However, the revenue should soon increase again with the release of Diablo 4’s first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, on October 8, 2024. The pre-order phase is already in progress, and sales are expected to rise after the launch.
