ElevenLabs has released a new project that pairs living artists with its Eleven Music AI. The company calls the release The Eleven Album. The project brings well known singers and new artists together with AI tools that generate music and help shape tracks. ElevenLabs says participating artists retain ownership and receive streaming revenue for their songs.
The album spans multiple styles. It includes work by Liza Minnelli Art Garfunkel Michael Feinstein and others. The album also features newer artists and AI music acts. ElevenLabs says the system can create full compositions from text prompts and that it can export stems for mixing and finishing. The company also highlights tools that let an artist alter timing lyrics and instruments with fine control. ElevenLabs calls this an assistive workflow that speeds the creative process.

Album and Artists
Liza Minnelli contributed a piece titled Kids Wait Till You Hear This. Her voice on the track is her real sung voice according to her representative and to ElevenLabs. Minnelli said the project respected artistic control and ownership. She noted that the tools helped her express a new idea while she retained rights to the song. The track uses electronic production and short vocal lines that fit the mood of the composition.
Art Garfunkel contributed a spoken word piece called Authorship. He reads text over piano and rain sounds. Garfunkel said he appreciated that the work kept the musician at the center of the art. Both Garfunkel and Minnelli appear through a program that ElevenLabs calls its Iconic Voice Marketplace. The marketplace gives brands and artists a way to license or to use voice work with consent.
ElevenLabs also released tracks with a range of other contributors that represent different genres. The company says all songs were released through the artists own channels so that revenue flows back to them. ElevenLabs positions the project as a model for artist collaboration rather than as a replacement for human musicians.
AI Music Tools
Eleven Music is the technology behind the project. The model can produce composition ideas and then let an artist edit them. The system can export up to six stems per track. That capability makes it easier for engineers and producers to mix and to arrange a final song. The platform also enables changes to timing and to lyrics and offers an editor view for hands on adjustments. ElevenLabs markets the tools as a way to help artists iterate faster and to test new creative directions.
ElevenLabs states that artists who use Eleven Music keep authorship and commercial rights. The company highlights partnerships with industry groups and rights managers to support fair pay. Deals with Kobalt and with Merlin were announced earlier to involve labels and publishers in development and revenue sharing. That business structure aims to let songwriters and performers share in any income that AI assisted tracks generate.
Rights, Consent and Concerns
The project comes as the music industry debates how to handle AI voices and generated songs. Questions include how to credit creators how to split royalties and how to handle the use of a living artist voice. ElevenLabs says it works with artists by consent and that it routes revenue through artist channels. The company also runs a marketplace for licensed voice use that it calls Iconic Voice. This is meant to give brands and creators a clear path to lawfully use a celebrity voice.
Artists who work with AI face choices. Some will welcome tools that speed workflow. Others will be wary of how voice likenesses and songwriting credits are handled. The music industry has begun to draft rules and to test new contracts that mention AI use. That work seeks to protect artists rights while allowing creative experiments. The Eleven Album shows one way a company and artists can structure a collaboration with consent and clear revenue flows.

Business Moves and Scale
ElevenLabs has moved fast in the audio and voice space. The company has drawn investment and has made deals that broaden its footprint. The firm recently offered a tender for employee equity and was valued in the billions. It also announced a partnership with actor Matthew McConaughey to use ElevenLabs voice tools for Spanish language audio for his newsletter. These moves reflect a company that aims to serve both creators and brands with voice and music tools.
The tools permit the practical question to which working musicians are asked. Eleven Music model can be used to create sketches which can be enhanced by human. The final mixing process is possible inside a studio process due to the stems. The argument that artists retain the entire ownership is important to creators. Simultaneously with certain observers will demand open-book accounting, and industry principles on the use of AI in songwriting credits.
