Spotify has launched a new feature called Listening stats. The feature shows weekly numbers for what a user listened to. It surfaces the top songs and top artists for each week. The new view also highlights milestones and fresh discoveries. This gives listeners an ongoing sense of how their taste changes over time.

How to access

Long-press your profile image and choose Listening stats from the profile menu. The new page shows top artists and top songs for the current week. It also highlights special moments like a new discovery or a listening milestone. The feature can turn a single week into a snapshot that is easy to read and share.

What you will see

The Listening stats page gives a simple summary at the top. You will see who you played the most and which songs you put on repeat. The layout is made for quick reading. The page also shows options to share the numbers to social apps or to Spotify friends. Spotify says the tool is rolling out in over 60 countries to both free and premium users.

Sharing and playlists

Share your weekly faves on Instagram and WhatsApp. Plus, you can share right inside Spotify using the app’s messaging. The stats view includes a quick way to create a playlist from the songs you are already playing. That makes it easy to save a week of music and return to it later.

Why this matters

Spotify has offered year-in-review summaries before. Those yearly recaps are popular. The new weekly view lets users catch trends as they happen. This can help a listener spot a rising obsession early. This also helps artists and playlist makers see what is popular each week. Spotify will still do its yearly Wrapped thing at the end of the year, even with these weekly updates.

Availability and rollout

Spotify says the Listening stats feature is available now in over 60 countries. The company plans to expand access over time. If the new tab does not appear in your profile immediately, check for an app update and then reopen Spotify. The rollout means some users will see the view before others.
