Adobe has unveiled a new Firefly app for iPhone and Android devices. The app lets users generate images and videos on their phones with Adobe’s own AI models and popular third‑party engines. It also brings powerful editing tools like generative fill and expand to mobile.

Full access to AI models on the go
With the Firefly mobile app, any user can type a prompt to create new visuals. Adobe’s image model and video model are both built in. The app also taps into OpenAI’s image generator, Google’s Imagen 3 and Veo 2, and Flux 1.1 Pro. This multi‑model support gives creators a choice in style, quality, and speed.
Edit and expand images with built‑in tools
Besides generating new content, the app lets users refine existing photos. Generative fill lets you replace parts of an image by painting over them. Generative expansion grows the scene beyond its borders, filling in new details. This mirrors desktop Firefly features and makes mobile editing far more flexible than before.
Projects sync across devices
Adobe Creative Cloud subscribers can start a project in the Firefly mobile app. Their work automatically saves in the cloud. When they open the web or desktop Firefly, their art appears ready for further refinement. This seamless workflow removes the need to email files or hunt for exports.
More third‑party engines arrive
Adobe has widened Firefly’s model library. Context by Black Forest Labs and Ideogram 3.0 are now available alongside Flux.1 Pro and Runway’s Gen‑4 Image. Each engine offers its own strengths in color, texture, or composition. Users can test and compare to find the model that best suits their vision.

Video generation lands on Canvas
Canvas, Adobe’s collaborative whiteboard, now supports video creation. Teams can sketch ideas, then hit a button to turn storyboards into short clips with AI. The feature uses Adobe’s video model and can also call on third‑party video engines. This addition brings motion to brainstorms and pitches without leaving the whiteboard.
Adobe reports that its Firefly AI models have powered over 24 billion new media assets. First‑time subscriber growth jumped 30 percent in the past quarter. The new mobile app looks poised to attract an even larger audience by putting AI art tools in every pocket.
