Samsung is getting ready to launch two new foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, in July 2025. Recent leaks show the company has already started making these phones. The Z Flip 7 will have a bigger battery, but the Z Fold 7 keeps the same battery size as last year. Fans are excited but also wondering why the Z Fold 7 did not get a battery upgrade.

Key Features of the New Phones

Battery Life Improvements

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will have a 4,300 mAh battery. This is bigger than the 4,000 mAh battery in last year’s Z Flip 6. The device maintains power for a more extended time span because of its expanded battery capacity. Both Z Fold 7 and Z Fold 6 utilize exactly the same 4,400 mAh battery capacity. Some users express dissatisfaction, yet Samsung declares that the new processor and software system will eliminate any negative impact on battery duration.

Design Changes

The Z Fold 7 will be thinner than ever. It measures 4.5mm in thickness when opened while the folded size reaches 8.2mm. This makes it easier to carry. The Z Flip 7 gets a bigger cover screen, almost matching the size of Motorola’s Razr phones. Both phones will have smoother edges, similar to Samsung’s latest Galaxy S phones.

Camera Upgrades

The Z Fold 7 might get a huge 200MP camera, like the one on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This camera takes super clear photos. The Z Flip 7 keeps its good cameras but focuses more on the bigger battery.

Why the Z Flip 7 Gets More Attention

The Z Flip 7’s battery upgrade is a big deal. Many users complained about the short battery life on older models. The new 4,300 mAh battery should fix this. The Z Fold 7, on the other hand, focuses on being thin and light. Some fans wish it had a bigger battery, too, but Samsung seems to care more about making it easier to carry.

What to Expect at the July Launch

Samsung will likely announce these phones at a July event called Galaxy Unpacked. Alongside the foldable, the company might show a new tri-fold phone, the Galaxy Watch 8 and the Galaxy Ring 2. Prices for the Z Fold 7 could be higher in Europe, but the Z Flip 7 should cost the same as last year.

How Samsung Compares to Other Brands

Other companies like Motorola and Oppo are making foldable phones with faster charging and bigger batteries. Samsung’s phones still charge slowly (25W wired and 15W wireless). However, Samsung’s software and design keep fans loyal. The new One UI 8 software, based on Android 16, will bring smarter features to both phones.

Final Notes

Samsung’s new foldables bring mixed upgrades. The Z Flip 7’s bigger battery will please many, while the Z Fold 7’s thin design and camera might attract others. With the launch just weeks away, users are waiting to see if these changes are worth the price.
