PlayStation 5 players might finally get to explore space in Starfield, one of the biggest games from Bethesda. The gaming community discovered evidence that the title may arrive on PS5 shortly. The game players found the first hint within the mod menu system that the game could arrive on PS5 soon.

PlayStation 5 Logo in Starfield’s Mod List

A few days ago, players noticed something unusual in Starfield. The Bethesda mod website received a freshly uploaded modification named Creations. The mod enables players to add sticker decals to their interstellar spacecraft. When fans checked the details of this mod, they saw the PlayStation 5 logo listed as a supported platform. This means the mod works on PS5, which is strange because Starfield is not officially available on PlayStation yet.

The PlayStation logo was not a mistake. The mod’s description clearly stated it could be used on PS5. Fans shared this discovery on Reddit; many believe it is a sign that Bethesda is secretly working on a PS5 version of Starfield.

Why This Matters for PlayStation Gamers

Starfield is a space adventure game where players explore planets, build spaceships, and complete missions. It launched in 2023 but was only available on Xbox Series X/S and PC. PlayStation players have asked for a PS5 version since the game was announced.

Microsoft, which owns Bethesda, used to keep games like Starfield exclusive to Xbox. The gaming software company Microsoft recently began its venture into PlayStation with Xbox game releases. For example, Sea of Thieves, a pirate game, came to PS5 in April 2024. If Starfield follows, it would be a huge win for PlayStation fans.

What This Means for the Game’s Future

Bringing Starfield to PS5 could help the game grow. The base game received mixed reviews, with some players saying it felt repetitive. Last year, Bethesda released a DLC (downloadable content) called Shattered Space, which added a new story. But fans still wanted more improvements. A PS5 release might give Bethesda a reason to update the game with better features or fixes.

Microsoft’s gaming boss, Phil Spencer, recently said “lots of exciting things” are coming for Starfield. Fans think this could include the PS5 version and new updates or expansions.

How PlayStation Players Feel About This News

Many PlayStation gamers are excited but also cautious. The leak of Starfield brings joy to the players who have spent numerous years anticipating its release. Bethesda’s gaming studio has not provided any official statement about a PS5 version. Users have expressed concern about how long it will be before the game is finally released into the market.

Several customers are pleased that Xbox and PlayStation are making more games accessible. The result may lead to reduced competition between consoles and increased available games for all players.

What Happens Next

The primary focus should be Bethesda’s upcoming announcement updates regarding PlayStation products. A real PS5 version will most likely get public release through Bethesda via major events such as Summer Game Fest or promotional trailers. Until then, fans can keep playing Starfield on Xbox or PC or try similar space games like No Man’s Sky or Destiny 2.

A PS5 version of Starfield would enable other Xbox games to move to the PlayStation platform. The proposed shift represents a fundamental transformation of the industrial practice among gaming console firms regarding their games’ distribution.
