For those who aren’t aware, we’re in the final stretch to learn all the details about the Galaxy S25. Samsung has even confirmed the date for the Unpacked event: January 22. Until then, we’ll have to wait, but not without enjoying some leaks. Today’s focus is on the most advanced model, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, which, unless there’s a surprise, will grab all the attention.

The well-known leaker Roland Quandt has revealed the latest details about the device, giving us a list of the five key improvements Samsung is adding to the Galaxy S25 Ultra. These changes are aimed at securing the largest market share possible. This information gives us a glimpse of the device and helps us start to decide if it’s worth it compared to other models.

As for the price of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, we don’t know yet, but it’s expected to be similar to last year’s price. If it stays the same, the 12 + 256 GB version would cost €1,469 in Europe.

A New Design, Finally

The first major change Samsung is making, and one of the most anticipated for several generations, is related to the device’s design. Multiple leaks have confirmed the same thing: the Galaxy S25 Ultra will adopt a design more similar to the base models.

As seen in the leaked images, the device will feature rounded corners and completely flat frames at all angles. Essentially, Samsung aims to create a more unified design across the entire series, making the Ultra look less different from the other models. Also, there’s great news for many: curved screens are a thing of the past.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite: The Galaxy S25 Ultra’s Best Friend

That’s right! According to Quandt, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will use the best available performance components. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite will power the device, alongside 12 or 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage. With Samsung likely including the most advanced memory chips—LPDDR5X and UFS 4.1—the overall configuration is top-notch.

This setup is ideal for a high-end device, offering the power to run any game and perform at the highest level. It remains to be seen if this Snapdragon 8 Elite is a standard version or a special “for Galaxy” edition, which could make it even more appealing.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra Will Be Lighter, Thinner, and Narrower

The design change seems to be a great fit for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Samsung aims to not only change the aesthetics but also improve key aspects such as thickness, weight, and width. The device has seen improvements in all three areas, though the changes are small.

Here are the dimensions:

  • Galaxy S24 Ultra: 162.3 x 79 x 8.6 mm – 232 grams
  • Galaxy S25 Ultra: 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2 mm – 219 grams

In comparison, the height of the Galaxy S25 Ultra is slightly taller. Samsung has focused on improving the most important aspects of ergonomics: weight, width, and thickness. While the height is slightly larger, it’s less significant for comfortable handling of the device.

A Little More Wireless Charging

The latest upgrade isn’t a major change, but it will be appreciated by those who use wireless charging. The Galaxy S25 Ultra now supports the Qi2 protocol and increases the maximum wireless charging power from 15W to 25W. For wired charging, however, everything remains the same with a maximum of 45W.

A Sublime, But Identical Screen

While not exactly an improvement, Quandt clarified that the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s display will, at least on paper, be identical to the one on the S24 Ultra. It will feature the same resolution, the same technologies, a similar refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits.

Samsung knows it has one of the best screens on the market, and while it may be a bit disappointing that this high-end €1,500 model doesn’t bring any major upgrades in this area, it’s still a milestone that the company has removed the curves and opted for a completely flat screen. As for the price of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, as we mentioned earlier, Samsung is not expected to change the price for this new generation. The Snapdragon 8 Elite would have justified a price hike, but recent leaks suggest the price will remain at €1,469.
