Just days after Tesla announced its robotaxi, a photograph has surfaced showing what the company’s rumored self-driving car might look like. An alleged Warner Bros. employee took the image of a distinctive yellow vehicle on the studio’s streets. The photograph has sparked a lot of reactions and seems to be genuine.

According to Electrek, the photo was shared on Reddit by a Warner Bros. employee. It shows a vehicle painted yellow with various body modifications to disguise its real design. The supposed robotaxi is accompanied by another Tesla as they both wait at an intersection.
Several key details suggest this could be Tesla’s robotaxi. According to the photo’s creator—who has since deleted the post and his Reddit profile—the vehicle is small and has a taillight similar to the Cybertruck’s. The Warner Bros. employee did not disclose whether the car had a steering wheel.
The Tesla vehicle in the photo is seen driving on one of the fictional streets at Warner Bros. studio in Los Angeles. According to a Bloomberg report, Tesla is expected to use this location for the robotaxi’s presentation on October 10, 2024. The Burbank studio features a fictional neighborhood called Warner Village, where the robotaxi would be seen.
The robotaxi is one of Tesla’s most ambitious projects to date. Originally scheduled for an August 8 announcement, the reveal was postponed to October to allow time for building more prototypes.
What We Know About Tesla’s Robotaxi
Elon Musk surprised everyone with the announcement that Tesla will develop a self-driving car to serve as a robotaxi. He revealed that the vehicle will feature a futuristic design and may be offered to companies to expand their fleets.
Despite the significant impact of the news, details about the project were kept secret for nearly two years. What little was known about the car was that it would be small (with two seats) and feature a design similar to the Cybertruck, based on a concept published in Elon Musk’s biography by Walter Isaacson.
During Tesla’s financial results presentation in April, Musk highlighted the company’s focus on fully autonomous driving. He showcased an Uber-like transportation service where users could summon a Tesla via their mobile phones and adjust some settings remotely. This feature is expected to be a key part of the robotaxi project.
Elon Musk initially announced that Tesla’s robotaxi would be revealed on August 8, but the event was later postponed to October. The latest photograph suggests that the presentation is approaching.
