This BIOS update uses AMD’s latest AGESA 1.2.0.2 framework to optimize power consumption and CPU performance. The 105W TDP (Thermal Design Power) mode allows Ryzen CPUs to operate at higher boost frequencies for a prolonged time, leading to better performance under sustained workloads. By increasing the wattage limit from standard TDP, the new mode provides more thermal headroom for these processors, reducing throttling and improving efficiency.

MSI’s new BIOS update is compatible with a wide range of motherboards, particularly their B450 and X570 series. The update ensures that users on MSI platforms can unlock the full potential of their Ryzen CPUs without needing to invest in new components, offering excellent value.

Benchmark Tests and Results

Benchmark results following the BIOS update are impressive. Testing performed on popular benchmark tools, including Cinebench R23 and Geekbench 5, revealed performance gains of 10-13%. In practical terms, these gains mean faster rendering times for content creators and better frame rates for gamers using Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X CPUs.

MSI's AGESA BIOS Delivers Up to 13% More Power for Ryzen CPU

Despite the higher power consumption, cooling systems on most modern MSI motherboards effectively handle the increased thermal output. This ensures that users can push their systems harder without risking overheating or instability.

MSI’s release of the AGESA 1.2.0.2 BIOS update for Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X represents a game-changing advancement in CPU performance. The introduction of the 105W TDP mode significantly boosts the processing power, delivering up to 13% more performance for both gamers and professionals. This update is particularly beneficial for users looking to maximize their existing hardware without costly upgrades. With its broad compatibility and performance improvements, MSI’s latest BIOS update ensures Ryzen users can stay ahead of the curve in computing efficiency.
