This monitor features a 49-inch curved screen with Quantum Dot OLED (QD-OLED) technology. This ensures excellent contrast of 1,500,000:1 and high color accuracy. The LED also provides much faster response times, making it ideal for competitive games. It is certified with DisplayHDR 400.
The screen has a resolution of 5,100 x 1,440 pixels, which is like having two Quad HD monitors side by side. This setup, along with its 1800R curved design, provides better immersion and multitasking, which can be very appealing for gamers who stream their games live.
Additionally, the panel refreshes at a rate of 240Hz. The monitor’s GtG response time is only 0.03 milliseconds, ensuring smoother transitions and sharper images in fast-paced games.
To protect the display, MSI has implemented OLED Care 2.0. This set of tools detects static scenes, logos, and other elements that increase the risk of burn-in, which is the accelerated wear of pixels that creates “ghosts” on the screen.
MSI has also used a custom graphene film heatsink to improve thermal conductivity for the internal hardware. This helps the monitor operate silently without the risk of overheating.
The MPG 491CQPX features several connectivity options on the back, including a 98W Power Delivery port with USB-C. This allows you to quickly recharge the batteries of compatible mobile devices.
Price and Availability
The MPG 491CQPX will launch in several countries with a suggested price of $1,199. It will be available in stores on October 10th, competing with Samsung’s Odyssey OLED G9.
