In Season 5 of Diablo 4, Blizzard Entertainment introduced a new endgame challenge known as the Hell Hordes, designed to test players to their limits. However, one particular enemy within this group has proven to be overwhelmingly powerful. A group of axe-wielding cannibals is so strong that the only way to end the fight against them is by letting your character die.
Hardcore Characters Beware: Always Carry a Scroll of Escape
The problem is that your character cannot attack these cannibals, yet they deal significant damage. They are invincible, leaving you no chance of surviving their wave in the Hell Hordes. It’s obvious that this is a bug, as evidenced by discussions on the Diablo 4 subreddit.

One player shared a short clip showing his character battling a cannibal. The enemy is not only invincible but also multiplies itself. Unfortunately, the player was in hardcore mode, meaning his character is permanently lost due to this bug.
Since the cannibals have neither a hitbox nor a health bar, killing them is impossible, as another Reddit user pointed out.
In case anyone didn’t realize, they have no hit box, no health bars, they are by definition invincible

Your only option is to let your character die. If you have sufficient health regeneration, you can try tanking the mob and then restarting the game. Until this issue is resolved, hardcore characters should always carry a Scroll of Escape before taking on the Hell Hordes.
