This week has been quite active in relation to various headphone-related announcements from Sony, directly linked to the PlayStation gaming console. In addition to two new wireless headphone models, it is known that the company is preparing to acquire another premium headphone brand, Audeze.

Sony Interactive Entertainment (the PlayStation division) has expressed the desire to acquire Audeze, aiming to enhance its innovations that cater to the audio experience specifically for PlayStation games. However, more precise information about the deal itself is not currently available.

Audeze will continue to operate independently from Sony, as well as develop products for various platforms, including the PlayStation ecosystem. Audeze‘s speciality lies in the use of planar magnetic drivers in their headphones, which Sony might also be interested in incorporating. The company also indicates that the acquisition of Audeze highlights Sony’s aspiration to continue evolving and innovating in its products.

Furthermore, this week saw the announcement of two new wireless headphones designed specifically for the PlayStation 5 console: the Pulse Explore and the Pulse Elite.”
