OnePlus Open is the company’s first foldable smartphone, designed to compete with the likes of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and other Chinese phones.
This phone is available in black and green colors, with a glass or vegan leather finish. It’s impressively lightweight at just 239 grams and one of the slimmest foldable phones at 5.8 mm when unfolded and 11.7 mm when folded.
Notably, it retains the traditional alert slider, which is a signature design element for OnePlus in the Android world. The back has a circular camera module with three sensors, and the hinge has a minimal gap.
The phone features a flexible 7.82-inch AMOLED LTPO display with a 2K resolution and support for a 120 Hz refresh rate. It also has a Super AMOLED LTPO 6.31-inch external screen with similar specs. Both screens can reach a maximum brightness of 2,800 nits.
Under the hood, it’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, 16 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of internal storage. You can even expand the RAM to 28 GB (16 GB + 12 GB).
For sound, it boasts a Dolby Atmos system for an enhanced multimedia experience.
You’ll find a side-integrated fingerprint reader and a comprehensive set of connectivity options, including 5G, dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC for contactless payments.
The phone’s battery has a capacity of 4,805 mAh and supports fast charging at 67W with SUPERVOOC. It runs Android 13 with the OxygenOS 13.2 interface, which is optimized for multitasking and windowed mode.
OnePlus commits to providing four years of Android updates and an additional year of security updates.
In the camera department, the OnePlus Open offers a Hasselblad-certified rear camera setup. It includes a 48 MP main camera with optical image stabilization, a 64 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 48 MP ultrawide camera. You can record 4K videos at either 60 or 30 fps. The phone’s front camera has 20 MP internally and 32 MP externally, with 4K video recording at up to 30 fps.
