Apple’s already extensive iPad family is set to grow again next year, according to well-informed Apple expert Ming Chi Kuo. The newcomer will take the form of a new iPad Air. Starting at 11 inches, it gets expensive: Those who desire a large iPad inevitably have to opt for the Pro model and put a significant amount of money on the table. However, in 2024, this is expected to change with a new iPad Air in an XXL format.

Apple Is Said to Be Working On A New iPad Air With a 12.9-inch Display.

It is expected to be equipped with a 12.9-inch display, setting new size records for the Air family. Up until now, the limit was 10.9 inches (Source: Macworld).

This move would provide potential iPad buyers with more options. Currently, anyone wanting an iPad with a display diagonal exceeding 11 inches has no choice but to go for the iPad Pro 12.9 inches, costing a minimum of 1,449 euros. In contrast, the iPad Air with a 10.9-inch display starts at 769 euros – still not a bargain, but significantly cheaper than the larger Pro model.

Naturally, Apple would charge a premium for a larger iPad Air. However, it is expected to be more affordable than the Pro model with an identical screen size.

The mass production of the expanded iPad Air is said to commence in the first half of 2024. Additionally, Apple is reportedly working on a new version of the well-known iPad Air with a 10.9-inch display.

New iPad Pro Models Are Set to Receive OLED Displays

After 2023 goes down in history as the great iPad drought year, 2024 is poised to bring a flood of new iPads. In addition to the new iPad Air models, there will also be new Pro iPads featuring OLED displays.
