Netflix’s DVD subscription service, DVD.com, is closing down in September. The notable announcement is that customers won’t be charged for any discs they still have after the service’s shutdown date of September 29th. Additionally, Netflix may send subscribers up to 10 extra DVD discs from their movie queues, effectively giving them a collection of movie discs.

If you're a @dvdnetflix subscriber, you can enter for a chance to get up to 10 extra discs shipped to you on the final day of the service. You just have to visit https://t.co/NHIpoGUgTv to opt-in! It's not a guarantee but still worth giving it a shot! pic.twitter.com/DVkvC3uZUJ

To benefit from this offer, DVD.com customers must visit a special link on DVD.com by August 29th. Netflix will then send up to 10 random discs based on the movies in each subscriber’s queue.

This move marks the end of an era for Netflix, as it phases out its DVD shipping service, which was its original business model before transitioning into a streaming giant. The last round of DVD shipments is scheduled for September 29th.

In case subscribers receive a DVD they don’t wish to keep, Netflix has stated that it will accept returns until October 27th. This provides a grace period for subscribers to send back any unwanted discs.
