It seems that The Last of Us 2 is on its way to the PS5. The profile of one of the Naughty Dog employees on LinkedIn suggests that The Last of Us 2: Remastered is in development.
“Responsible for overseeing the production of all outsourced assets for environmental art, weapons, and interactive props for the two iconic titles The Last of Us: Part One and The Last of Us 2: Remastered,” says the profile of the lead outsourced artist, Mark Pajarillo.

Journalist and insider Tom Henderson commented in January 2022 that he had heard about a new version of The Last of Us 2. After that, in July 2023, a rumor about it resurfaced, with the game being mentioned by The Last of Us composer Gustavo Santaolalla.
The news of the alleged remaster of The Last of Us 2 comes shortly after issues emerged involving the multiplayer spin-off of The Last of Us, which apparently had its production halted after Naughty Dog allegedly laid off some employees.
