The new generation of Pixel Watch was unveiled by Google on Wednesday (4) during its own event. In this regard, the smartwatch comes with significant differences compared to its predecessor, despite notable similarities between the two models.
To begin with, these similar details can be observed in the visual aspect, as the device is practically identical to the previous generation. Differences emerge in the technical specifications, as the new product comes with the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 platform , while the original has an Exynos 9110 .
Nevertheless, this is the most relevant change because both generations of the smartwatch come with 2GB of RAM accompanying the processing power. However, the chip change can have a significant impact on the battery due to Qualcomm’s component being more efficient.
Speaking of the battery, the Pixel Watch 2 comes with a 306mAh battery, slightly larger than the 294mAh of the previous model. According to Google, the device should be able to last 24 hours on a single charge even with the Always On Display feature enabled all the time.
Furthermore, there is a circular OLED screen with a resolution of 384 x 384 and a size of 1.2 inches. The sensors included in the product include a blood oxygen meter, as well as the ability to monitor stress and provide detailed sleep tracking.
The new watch also comes with IP68 certification, making it a model that can be used for swimming in pools. Finally, for those interested, the cheaper version of Pixel Watch 2 can be purchased for $350 with Bluetooth only. The LTE variant will be sold for $400.
