Apple Releases Third Beta Version of iOS 17.4 and iPadOS 17.4 for Developers

Apple released the third testing version of the upcoming beta versions of iOS 17.4 and iPadOS 17.4 for developers on Tuesday (13). This update comes one week after the release of the second tests.

Registered developers have the option to try out these betas by accessing the device settings, going to the software update section, and selecting the “Beta Updates” option, where they can switch to iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 Beta for Developers. To do this, it is necessary to have a developer account associated with an Apple ID.

iOS 17.4 brings significant changes to how the App Store and apps function in the European Union. This includes making room for alternative app markets, alternative payment systems, and allowing NFC access for third-party banks and payment providers. These changes are specific to the EU and will not be applied in other countries.

Furthermore, iOS 17.4 brings news such as permission for cloud gaming apps like Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce NOW, as well as the possibility for mini-games, chatbots, and plugins to use in-app purchase systems.

Other additions include new emojis, transcripts for podcasts in the Podcasts app, support for SharePlay with HomePod, and live stopwatch activities, among others.
