Samsung has announced the Temporary Cloud Backup feature, which allows users to store data from their smartphones in the cloud for up to 30 days. Temporary Cloud Backup provides up to 100 GB of space in the cloud, which can be useful, for example, when sending the smartphone for repair.

Temporary Cloud Backup will store data about installed applications, photos, videos, and other files. All information will be saved in Samsung’s apps, but Temporary Cloud Backup won’t be able to store content from apps developed by other companies.

Temporary Cloud Backup can also be useful when you want to exchange your current smartphone for a new Galaxy smartphone. However, it is unclear how fast the process of creating Temporary Cloud Backup copies will be. You probably can’t just walk into a store and immediately start transferring years’ worth of photos and videos to the cloud.

For now, Temporary Cloud Backup is only available for Samsung Galaxy models with One UI 6. Unfortunately, the One UI 6 interface is not ready yet, and it will initially be available in Korea, with no news about availability in other regions.
