Apple has expanded its AppleCare+ service to include theft and loss protection for iPad and Apple Watch users for the first time. Starting July 24, subscribers can opt in for a monthly or annual fee and file up to two theft or loss claims per year provided they have enabled Find My on the missing device.

Pricing and service fees
The new coverage is available at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year for iPad. Each theft or loss claim carries a service fee of $129. For Apple Watch the rate is $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year with a $199 fee per claim.
Subscription term and eligibility
In the new version of the AppleCare+ customers pay the amount they require and can stop at any point. Equipment that is available on theft and loss protection is the exhibit requiring Find My to be enabled. This is necessary to ensure verification of ownership and location of device. The accessories Apple does not cover within this plan include Apple Pencil or Magic Keyboard in the individual claim as only the main device is covered.
How to enroll
Customers can supplement theft and loss by adding it to AppleCare page on an iPad or an Apple Watch, Apple Support app, in an Apple Store, or on the Apple web site. Current AppleCare+ subscribers may upgrade to the new coverage and still remain current subscribers without any additional interruption.

Stealth and loss insurance no longer just covers iPhone as the key areas of devices that AppleCare+ now supports these covers are more in line with the available many users of the products in their portfolio. This update provides owners of iPad and watches with certainty that in case their precious gadget disappears or gets stolen, their devices can be replaced in a short period of time.
