iCloud passwords autofill has been expanded to Firefox on Windows with the latest update by Apple. Now, PC users who use the Firefox web browser can install the official iCloud Passwords extension and view their saved passwords and passkeys there, directly without the need to open a different browser such as Chrome or Edge.

Origins of Apple Passwords Across Platforms

Apple introduced the Passwords app in iOS 18 as a dedicated hub for iCloud Keychain items that were once hidden in Settings. The company then brought iCloud Keychain compatibility to Windows in August 2021 via the iCloud for Windows app. Since that time, the service has offered autofill in Chrome and Edge on PC before now arriving on Firefox as well.

Windows 11 Requirement and User Reports

While Mozilla’s Add‑Ons store has hosted the iCloud Passwords extension for months, it did not function on Windows until recently. According to Reddit users, the feature is only available on Windows 11, and people who are using Windows 10 will not be able to use this feature. Apple has yet to state whether earlier versions of Windows shall be supported.

Installing iCloud Passwords in Firefox

To begin, download the iCloud for Windows application from the Microsoft Store and install it on your PC. Launch the application and check the option of Passwords & Keychain access in settings. Then go to the Firefox Add-ons page and install the iCloud Passwords extension. When you are asked to open the desired permissions, log in using your Apple ID.

How Autofill Works in Your Browser

After you install Firefox, it will ask you to auto-fill in the field with credentials stored in your iCloud keychain. Any new password you save in Firefox updates your Keychain for seamless access on all Apple devices. The extension also supports passkey logins and verification‑code generation for two‑factor authentication.

The arrival of iCloud Passwords autofill in Firefox for Windows 11 simplifies password management for users who prefer Mozilla’s browser. By unifying credential access across devices and platforms, Apple ensures that your logins remain secure yet always within reach. Enjoy faster, safer sign‑ins without leaving your browser.
