Google is making a huge change to improve its Pixel phones. Pixel phones will have their brains built by TSMC, the world’s top semiconductor company. The duration is set for three years, so phones from the Pixel 10 to Pixel 14 will get better performance.

Why Google Chose TSMC Over Samsung

Samsung’s Chips Had Problems
For years, Google used Samsung to make its Pixel phone chips. But Samsung’s chips often made phones hot and drained battery life quickly. Now, Google is switching to TSMC, which is known for making cooler, more efficient chips.

TSMC’s Chips Save Battery
TSMC’s chips are like a car that uses less gas. They help phones last longer on a single charge. For example, TSMC made a chip for Qualcomm (a big tech company) that was faster and used less power than Samsung’s version. This means Pixel phones won’t get as hot or die as quickly.

What This Means for Your Phone

Pixel 10 Will Be the First
The Pixel 10, coming later this year, will be the first phone with a TSMC-made chip called Tensor G5. Users can expect:

  • Longer battery life (up to 30% better than older Pixels).
  • Less overheating during games or video calls.
  • Smoother photos and videos.

Future Pixels Will Keep Improving
Google plans to use TSMC’s chips until at least the Pixel 14. Each new phone should get slightly better, with faster speeds and even longer battery life.

What Users Want Most

In a poll, Pixel fans said their top wishes are:

  1. Better battery life (58% of voters).
  2. Less heating (12%).
  3. Faster performance (25%).

TSMC’s chips tackle all three issues. Imagine playing your favorite game for hours without your phone turning into a hot potato or needing a charger.

A Win for Pixel Fans

This update will certainly please anyone who is a fan of Pixel phones. Pixels do not sell as well as iPhones or Samsung Galaxies, but could become synonymous with dependability. Google has listened to those who want phones that keep going for a full day and stay comfortable. According to one technologist, joining forces is “like making Pixel devices truly super powered.” The future is looking bright for Pixel, all thanks to TSMC helping things run smoothly.
