Meta has started a new program called Llama for Startups. This program helps small companies in the United States use Meta’s Llama AI models. It offers money and support to startups that are building AI tools. Meta wants to make it easier for these companies to use AI in their work.

How the Program Works

Startups that join the program can get up to six thousand dollars each month for six months. This money helps them pay for the costs of using AI. Meta’s team will also help these startups learn how to use Llama AI models better. They will work together to find the best ways to use AI in their projects.

To join, a startup must be based in the United States. It should have less than ten million dollars in funding and at least one developer on the team. The company should also be working on AI tools that create new content. The last day to apply is May 30.

Why Meta Started This Program

Meta wants more people to use its Llama AI models. These models help computers understand and create human-like text. By helping startups, Meta hopes to make Llama more popular. Other big companies like Google and Alibaba also have their own AI models. Meta wants to stay ahead in this area.

Recently, Meta had some problems with its AI models. The release of a big model called Llama 4 Behemoth was delayed. Some people said that Meta used a special version of another model, Llama 4 Maverick, to get better test results. Meta denied these claims.

Meta’s Plans for the Future

Meta is confident AI will play a major role in its operations. By 2035, AI is expected to bring in anywhere from $460 billion to $1.4 trillion, says the company. In order to do this, Meta has invested a large sum of money in AI. In 2024, it spent over 900 million dollars on AI projects. This year, it plans to spend even more.

Meta is also working on new ways to make money from AI. It has deals with other companies to share profits from Llama models. Meta has also created a tool that lets developers customize Llama models. In the future, Meta’s AI assistant might show ads or offer special features for a fee.

What This Means for Startups

The Llama for Startups program is a chance for small companies to use powerful AI tools. With Meta’s help, these startups can build new products and services. This program could lead to more innovation in the AI field. It also helps Meta by getting more people to use its AI models.

Startups interested in this program should apply soon. The deadline is May 30. This is a good opportunity for small companies to grow and for Meta to expand its AI reach.
