Intel didn’t want to miss CES in Las Vegas, one of the most important tech fairs in the world. The semiconductor company introduced the new Core Ultra 200 series for laptops, powered by the Arrow Lake architecture instead of Lunar Lake. The new models include the 200HX, 200H, and 200U.

This move is a bit surprising, as the Arrow Lake architecture means the new processors don’t meet the requirements for Microsoft’s Copilot+ support. They also don’t offer as advanced graphics as the Lunar Lake-based Core Ultra 200Vs Intel announced earlier. However, the new Core Ultra 200 processors focus on CPU performance, making them ideal for gaming laptops, systems with external graphics cards, or budget-friendly laptops.

Each processor model has different specifications, even though they all use the same architecture. The Core Ultra 200HX is the most powerful of the bunch. It’s designed for high-performance laptops or workstations, featuring up to 24 cores, including 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores, with clock speeds reaching up to 5.5 GHz.

Intel Core Ultra 200H and 200U Overview

The Core Ultra 200H is designed for lightweight laptops intended for office tasks and similar uses, rather than gaming. It comes with integrated Intel Arc graphics, featuring up to eight Xe LPG+ cores. This setup improves graphics performance by up to 15% compared to the previous generation of the same model.

The Core Ultra 200U, intended for more general-purpose computers, includes a total of 10 cores (2 P-cores and 8 E-cores) along with basic integrated graphics. This makes it a more efficient chip than the other models, offering optimal performance with better battery savings.

All of the new Core Ultra 200 chips feature a new modular design, combining advanced components and manufacturing processes. These chips include cores similar to those in the Meteor Lake series, enabling advanced features such as compatibility with Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7. Additionally, they all share the same NPU as Meteor Lake and support a maximum memory capacity of 96 GB.
