OpenAI has launched its 12 days of pre-Christmas announcements, starting with the release of ChatGPT Pro, a new version of its artificial intelligence chatbot. The highlight of this version is that it provides unlimited access to OpenAI’s most advanced models: o1 and GPT-4o. Additionally, it offers unrestricted use of Advanced Voice Mode, the company’s voice assistant feature.

Alongside ChatGPT Pro, OpenAI also unveiled the final version of o1, its AI model designed for reasoning tasks. Although o1 was initially announced last September, it was only available as a preview until now. The finalized version is not only more powerful but has also reduced its error rate by 34%, enabling users to fully benefit from its enhanced capabilities.
It is worth mentioning that o1 is not exclusive to the new ChatGPT Pro. Starting today, it is also available to Plus and Team subscribers. Users of the Enterprise and Edu plans will gain access to the final version of this advanced AI model starting next week.
For those interested in ChatGPT Pro, it comes with a significant price tag of $200 per month. However, the key benefit is that it removes all restrictions on using the most advanced AI models developed by Sam Altman’s startup.
ChatGPT Pro fully leverages the capabilities of o1, OpenAI’s most powerful AI model.
The release of the final version of o1, OpenAI’s most advanced AI, introduces several new features. One major update is the ability to recognize images uploaded by users in their queries to ChatGPT, enabling the model to provide more detailed and well-reasoned answers. OpenAI has also announced plans to add support for web browsing and file uploads within the chatbot, along with offering access to o1’s advanced features through the API.
Another exciting feature coming to ChatGPT Pro is a special mode called o1 Pro. This version utilizes more computing power and is specifically designed to tackle highly complex problems. During the launch presentation, OpenAI demonstrated o1 Pro solving a challenging chemistry query that the earlier version of the model had previously answered incorrectly.
Since ChatGPT Pro’s o1 Pro mode takes longer to generate a response, the developers have added helpful features to enhance the user experience. The interface now includes a progress bar and an in-app notification system, so users can attend to other tasks while waiting for the AI to complete its work. Additionally, the software displays a timer indicating how long the AI took to generate the reply.
ChatGPT Pro is undoubtedly a bold move by OpenAI. While the $200 per month subscription may not suit everyone, it will likely be invaluable for those who need frequent and intensive access to the most advanced technologies OpenAI currently offers. For Plus subscribers, who pay $20 per month, OpenAI promises to continue providing early access to new features and updates. However, Plus users will have limited access to o1 and will not be able to use the o1 Pro mode.
