Strong Market Comeback

Huawei Chinese smartphone sales reclaimed the number one position after 46 months, as the report ‘After 46 months, Huawei Chinese smartphone sales exceed Apple gains in August 2024’ details about the Chinese smartphone market and the current leadership shift. Huawei’s return to the top spot is largely down to the relentless innovation and strategic releases it has undertaken over the past year.

For instance, Huawei’s new models like the Mate 60 series with its high-end Kirin 5G chip with integrated satellite calling and more. In fact, these features appealed to the consumers and provided a greater presence in the high-end Smartphone market increasing the company’s share in the market. Meanwhile, Huawei is getting a chance to climb back up the ranks as sales of Apple’s products in China continue to slow.

A Steady Rise

In Q1 2024, Huawei’s sales increased by 110% year over year. Huawei made spectacular growth, becoming the No. 1 China smartphone player in the first half of the year at 17.5 percent market share.

Other models such as the Pocket 2, Pura 70 series, and the Nova Flip are further contributing to Huawei’s 2024 sales surge. It will also contribute to the company’s upcoming Mate 70 series, which is expected to provide another sales boost for Huawei, maintaining the Chinese brand in the market.

Apple’s Decline in China

Huawei’s premium smartphone is the growing demand priced at more than 6000 yuan has intensified competition with Apple. The US tech giant is finding it struggling to keep its market share in maintaining its status. According to CINNO Research, Chinese market dominance further slips as Apple struggles to wrestle competition from Huawei and other local rivals.

Huawei’s return to the top represents a tectonic shift in the balance of power among Chinese smartphone makers, and Apple will have to build strategy packets fast if it wants to reclaim lost ground.
