Gemini AI by Google has come up with great new enhancements that help with organizing tasks and to-do lists. The latest one is the extension for Google Keep and Google Tasks and is now being rolled across smartphone and web versions of Gemini adding to its already diverse usability. These are under the ‘Google Workspace’ extension, which links Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive, and several others to Gemini enabling smooth interconnectivity.

Extensions Across Platforms

Extensions were initially launched in September 2023 when Gemini was still called as Bard and they were available only in English. But in April 2024, Google decided to open the feature for all the languages and countries where Gemini works. Now, with new integrations, the AI assistant can take in information from Google Maps, YouTube, Google Flights, and beyond. However, Keep and Tasks extensions are relatively new, greatly improving Gemini’s capabilities to help individuals with daily tasks. These extensions were initially launched with Pixel 9 smartphones at the end of the last month and with the web version of Gemini, thus, reaching a wider audience.\

Google Workspace Extensions Now in Gemini

The new Google Workspace extension band together several functionalities such as the ones added recently like Keep and Tasks. For users, who still have not enabled the Workspace extension, they can do so from the mobile applications and web interface. Here’s how:

On Mobile

  • Open the Gemini app.
  • Tap your profile icon in the top right corner.
  • Navigate to “Extensions.”
  • Toggle on the “Google Workspace” extension.

On the Web

  • Go to gemini.google.com/app.
  • Click the settings cogwheel at the bottom left.
  • Click on “Extensions.”
  • Toggle on “Google Workspace.”
  • Once enabled, this feature connects Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Drive to your Gemini account, offering a more comprehensive AI assistance experience.

Google Keep Extension

As aforementioned, users of Gemini can conveniently handle their notes and lists through the Google Keep extension. Notes can be searched by title, content, or label, as well as by a specific word or by performing a search using keywords. It is particularly useful to those who apply Gemini for such purposes like suggesting recipes or arranging the usage of amenities. For instance, whenever you come across an amazing recipe that you wish to save, then you can quickly save it as a note on Keep from Gemini. In the same way, users are also able to save the custom workflows or lists that have been created in Google Keep for later use.

Google Tasks Extension

Google Tasks offers the next level of productivity management, letting users create and schedule tasks, with due dates, priorities, and shared lists. It is possible to set a daily or weekly list of tasks with dates for their completion, as well as receive information about important tasks for today, tomorrow and so on, and even search for a specific task by such a word as, for example, ‘urgent’. For instance, if you wish to delete particular tasks, or simply wish to have an idea of the pending assignments, Gemini provides the ease of managing such schedules.

What’s Next?

Presently, the Google Keep and Task extensions support only the English language but they are the added advantage that enhances Gemini functionality in handling personal and business-oriented tasks. New features for Google Home, Phone app, and other utilities are yet to be released and this will make Gemini a full-fledged AI assistant. With greater usage of new Google Workspace integrations, Gemini will be on course to become an essential application that enhances efficiency while reducing the effort needed on common tasks.
