Xiaomi has introduced a new 4K monitor that could be a great option for connecting to your laptop. The Redmi A27U Type-C is an updated version of the A27U model released a few weeks ago, and it features a multifunctional USB-C connection. This connection not only allows it to be connected to your computer but also supports reverse charging up to 90 W.

On the outside, the Redmi A27U Type-C looks very similar to its smaller sibling. It has a sleek body design, an ultra-thin bezel display, and a metal stand. Users can adjust the height, rotate the screen, or change the tilt angle to get the best viewing experience based on their position.

In terms of specifications, the Redmi A27U Type-C features a 27-inch display with a 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels). The IPS panel has a 60Hz refresh rate and supports 95% DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB color gamuts. Like other monitors from the brand, Xiaomi has used professional calibration, and the new Redmi promises a ΔE<1 measurement.

The main difference from the Redmi A27U is the addition of the USB-C port. This multifunctional interface offers data transmission and 90-watt reverse charging through a single cable, which helps reduce cable clutter on your desk. If you prefer not to use USB-C, the monitor also includes two HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 port, a headphone jack, and two USB 2.0 ports.

Xiaomi’s Redmi A27U Type-C Monitor Costs Less Than 180 Euros

For those interested in buying it, the Redmi A27U Type-C is priced at 1,399 yuan (178 euros) and is available in China. The USB-C version is more expensive than the standard A27U model, so if you don’t need the USB-C feature, you might consider the cheaper A27U option once it becomes available in Europe or other parts of the world.

Judging by the specs and price, Xiaomi’s new monitor targets users seeking an entry-level 4K monitor with good color management. The Redmi A27U Type-C offers competitive specifications that make it stand out among office models, though it does not provide the high refresh rates typical of gaming monitors, such as rates above 144 Hz.

The option to connect via USB-C is particularly appealing for users with a MacBook or Intel-based laptop. Reverse charging is the main highlight of the Redmi A27U Type-C, but it also functions well as a desktop monitor and supports multi-screen setups thanks to its additional ports. The only thing missing is Xiaomi’s decision to launch it outside of China.

For those seeking a similar price range, the Xiaomi Monitor A27i is the closest alternative, though it lacks a USB-C connection and has a Full HD screen. Another option is the G27i model, which offers a 165 Hz refresh rate and supports HDR10, but it also remains at a 1080p resolution.
