NVIDIA announced on Tuesday (20) that it is expanding its long-standing partnership with MediaTek to lower the prices of monitors and other devices with G-SYNC. This technology is designed for gamers and prevents frame drops by adjusting the screen frequency to synchronize with signals from the GPU.

Through this partnership, the companies have developed a new processor that includes all the features of G-SYNC. Instead of using a separate module, monitor manufacturers can now adopt MediaTek’s integrated system. This change makes it possible to bring adaptive refresh rate technology to more segments.

By removing the need for a separate module that only adjusts the screen’s refresh rate, display manufacturers will save significantly on costs. Integrating this function into MediaTek’s chips further reduces expenses.

The integrated system will also include NVIDIA’s latest quality-enhancing technology, G-SYNC Pulsar. This technology aims to reduce motion blur and keep details sharp on the screen. According to NVIDIA, it promises up to four times more motion clarity in games.

During Gamescom 2024, three monitor manufacturers—Acer, AOC, and ASUS—confirmed the release of models featuring the processor developed through their partnership. All the new monitors will have a 27-inch screen, Quad HD resolution, 360 Hz refresh rate, and support for HDR content. The companies have not yet disclosed the suggested prices or the regions where the monitors will be launched. However, they have stated that the new products will be available in stores by the end of 2024.
