Information about NVIDIA’s upcoming RTX 50 GPU lineup has been circulating for some time, but it might still be a while before we see these devices in action.
Previously, several rumors suggested that the launch would happen in the last quarter of 2024, with the GeForce RTX 5080 launching first, followed by the RTX 5090.
However, it seems plans have changed, favoring a launch closer to CES 2025 or possibly at the event itself.

As rumored, NVIDIA is expected to introduce two top-of-the-line models codenamed GB202 and GB203. The GB202 is likely the GeForce RTX 5090, featuring 192 SM units and up to a 512-bit interface. The GB203 is expected to be the RTX 5080, with half the configuration of the GB202, including 92 SM units and a 256-bit interface. Both GPUs are anticipated to use the latest GDDR7 memory interface.

A 2025 launch means both desktop and notebook GPUs in the Blackwell lineup will be available in the same year. If the rumors are accurate, we might see some mention of these devices at events like SIGGRAPH or Gamescom in Germany.
