Following the releases of Princess Peach: Showtime and Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Nintendo is gearing up for the launch of the remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, an originally released game in 2024. On an ordinary day, Mario receives a letter from Princess Peach containing a treasure map. Our hero embarks on a quest to find the lost princess and the treasure, initiating this adventure. As the title suggests, this version of Mario is entirely composed of paper, leading to different abilities and limitations than those typically encountered.

The thin, papery nature of Mario enables a much broader range of exploration, including slipping into cracks in walls and transforming into a paper airplane to navigate scenes. Mario can also curl up into a cone shape to roll through pipes and cling to beams.

Beyond controlling Mario, players can also take on the roles of Peach and Bowser, each with their own storylines and unique abilities. Additionally, special partners can be utilized, providing Mario with even more skills and resources throughout his adventure.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is set to release exclusively on Nintendo Switch on May 23, 2024.
