The update was rolled out by the company in build 26040 of Windows 11, which was released in the Canary channel for members of the Insider Preview program. Microsoft aims to bring a new installation experience to the software.

According to Microsoft, all changes made to the operating system’s installation wizard aim to make the entire Windows 11 setup process “much cleaner and more modern” while also simplifying this step.

In the released test version, Microsoft has not yet changed the design style itself, but it is expected that the company will overhaul the entire visual appearance of the installation wizard, which is based on the concept introduced in Windows 8 several years ago.

To conclude, there is still no forecast for when Microsoft will release these changes to the system installer for the official version of Windows 11. It’s worth noting that the Canary Channel is the first part of the testing phase for a new feature to be made available.
