In a much-anticipated move, a new patch has landed on Xbox consoles. Its aim is to erase the memory bug haunting Baldur’s Gate 3. As announced by Xbox Support in a recent tweet, players can grab the fix either through their settings with a manual console update. Alternatively, they can patiently await the automatic update set to roll out next week.

Now, Xbox enthusiasts can dive into the acclaimed Game of the Year 2023 on their consoles without the looming anxiety of progress loss. The patch comes as a vital solution to a bug that left many players grappling with disappearing save files.

An Xbox System Update will be rolling out from today to address the Save Game issue on Baldur's Gate 3. You can manually update your console via the Settings or it will roll out to your console within the next week.

Xbox Players Face Save File Woes in Baldur’s Gate 3

A significant setback hit Xbox players as a bug wiped out their game progress in Baldur’s Gate 3. Developer Larian Studios quickly responded on Twitter, confirming the release of a patch. To activate it, players are advised to manually update their Xbox through console settings. The hope is that this measure can stem the tide of progress losses.

Xbox players, we’ve pushed a small update to Baldur’s Gate 3 containing stability fixes.

We're aware of the issue of saves disappearing after a crash. An update is available from Xbox to help with some of these issues, please manually update your Xbox through the system menu.

Xbox Owners Report Horror Bug in Baldur’s Gate 3

While Xbox fans had patiently awaited the release of Baldur’s Gate 3, crowned as the Game of the Year, on Microsoft consoles on December 8, 2023, an unsettling bug emerged shortly after its debut. The Xbox version seemed plagued by a spine-chilling bug capable of irrevocably deleting hard-earned save files.

On Reddit, numerous gamers shared tales of losing several hours of gameplay due to their save files vanishing after a game crash. Understandably, this triggered significant disappointment and frustration among the affected players. Confirming these issues under user loganburke’s post, others expressed their shared woes.

Baldur’s Gate 3: Memory Bug Afflicts Xbox Owners

Reports surfaced of players receiving a message upon restarting Baldur’s Gate 3, claiming insufficient space for saving, despite ample disk space. Following this, many found their previous save files untraceable. Desperate measures like reinstalling, restarting, and attempts with Quick Resume yielded little success. As of now, developer Larian has not addressed the problem, leaving players uncertain about the bug’s fixability or preventability.
