Certainly, few now remember the “Clubhouse” app, which reached the peak of popularity during the pandemic, providing real-time audio communication and remote discussion opportunities. At the beginning of the year, “Clubhouse” announced that they would be letting go of half of their employees and planning to chart a new course for the company’s development, creating the “Clubhouse 2.0” version. Many had doubts about the company’s success in this endeavor. However, now “Clubhouse” has announced that they are changing their business direction and placing more emphasis on group messaging.

Clubhouse: Transforming from Real-Time Conversations to Friend-Oriented Voice Chats

In their statement, “Clubhouse” indicated that the app is evolving from real-time audio conversations, which anyone could join, to voice chats oriented towards groups of friends. Instead of expanding the direction of public discussions, where any user could participate, the new version of “Clubhouse” offers the ability to create private or semi-private groups, called “Chats,” where a user’s friends and friends of friends can exchange voice messages.

Communication Shifts Towards Voice Messages, Similar to Instagram Stories

Communication within these groups will be less focused on real-time conversations. It will be more akin to Instagram Stories. Users will be able to share updates on their lives in the form of voice messages and share these posts with friends, who can then respond by adding their own voice messages. Therefore, this communication will be more like a collage of voice message recordings rather than real-time conversation.

Live Audio Rooms Still Available for Real-Time Discussions

However, users will still have the option to create live audio rooms and engage in real-time discussions on various topics.
