Microsoft has announced that Xbox 360 owners will no longer be able to purchase new video games, their add-ons, or anything else related to this console from next July. It should be noted that this iconic gaming console will celebrate its 18th anniversary this year, and during this time, two other generations of Xbox consoles have been released. Until July 29, 2024, it is still possible to experience nostalgia with the Xbox 360. However, this does not mean that everything will come to an end. Microsoft has ensured that games that also support Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X consoles will be automatically available on the newer consoles.

Additionally, all saved data related to these games will be accessible on the latest generation consoles, thanks to cloud services. Furthermore, Xbox 360 will also discontinue support for the Microsoft Movies & TV app. In essence, this console will be designed to play classic games from discs, as well as those that are already stored on the hard drive.
Multiplayer modes will still function, but it depends on how long the game developers themselves will support Xbox 360. The last game for this console was released five years ago, indicating a rapid decline in its popularity and relevance. Currently, the relevant consoles are the Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X.
