WhatsApp is testing several new features such as animated stickers , sending high-quality media by default and has even launched new text formatting options. Today the WABetaInfo portal shared another improvement that should be launched soon on iOS: the option to filter the search only by favorite contacts.
Please follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
The new option was found in version 24.4.10.76 of WhatsApp Beta for iOS distributed through TestFlight. The chat filter has 5 categories: all, unread, contacts, groups and favorites. This will allow you to find calls, messages and updates from these contacts more quickly.
According to WABetaInfo, this feature will be added later to WhatsApp Web , which means it could also come to Android in the future. At the moment this option is not yet active on iOS, as it is under internal development by Meta, it can be tested manually through modifications to the WhatsApp code.
We hope that the ability to mark contacts as favorites will also allow the user to define treatment modes, notifications and other special features for this category, as it would be dedicated to the people who are most important.
Speaking of WhatsApp Web, this version of the messenger should gain support for password protection soon.
