WhatsApp is preparing a new interface based on Material You, but this won’t be the only news. Version 2.23.20.12 of WhatsApp Beta for Android already contains codes for a new feature involving temporary messages, allowing the user to define if they are busy, on vacation, and more for a specified period.
The WhatsApp Status feature is used to add a message below your name for other people. It allows you to specify if you are busy, in a meeting to avoid unexpected distractions. However, you still need to manually change it if you are doing something else, but this is expected to change.
According to WABetaInfo, Meta is developing a temporary message feature, which will disappear after a scheduled time. With this new feature, users will be able to decide whether a message will be kept in their profile for 24 hours, 3 days, one week, or even two weeks. The timer can also be deactivated, but it’s a great addition for when you are on leave or vacation, for example.
The feature is not yet active for WhatsApp Beta users because it is still being developed, but WABetaInfo believes it should be released anytime soon for the application’s testers.
