Opera has recently introduced an iOS version of its web browser, Aria, incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI). The announcement was made on August 16, 2023, in Oslo, Norway, where Opera unveiled the Opera Aria AI browser tailored for iOS users. Developed through a collaboration between Open AI and Opera, this web browser seamlessly integrates AI services, all offered to users at no cost. The refinement of these services has been orchestrated by Opera’s in-house architectural composers, culminating in a user experience that delivers real-time web results.

Aria is tightly connected with OpenAI’s technology, which has been further enriched with supplementary capabilities. This strategic utilization of AI empowers Aria to enhance users’ productivity and unleash their creativity. The Norwegian company initially introduced this innovative technology in May of this year. Following its debut, Aria was successfully integrated into desktop browsers compatible with Windows, Linux, and Mac devices by Opera. Later, by the close of June, Aria’s integration extended to Android devices. Building upon this momentum, Opera has now revealed the expansion of Aria AI to iOS devices on August 16.

CO- CEO Lin Song shared, “Aria, our newly-introduced and free AI solution, has already exceeded 1 million users”. He further added, “We’re witnessing enthusiastic user engagement with AI tools, especially Aria. As a result, we are delighted to extend Opera’s AI tool to our iOS users”.

Kseniia Sycheva in a blog post announcement stated, “Aria, our new browser AI, is now available for all users of the Opera browser for iOS, which makes it accessible across all major platforms”. She also included, “As a product of our collaboration with OpenAI, Aria offers you a cutting-edge generative AI service for free. This service is enhanced by our own Composer architecture, granting you access to real-time web results. Seamlessly integrated into the browser, Aria introduces an innovative paradigm for the future of web browsing”.

For those unfamiliar with Aria, it functions as a generative AI model similar to ChatGPT. Aria employs web results to distill and provide users with a more concise version of the given text. Rather than resorting to Google’s web search results, users can direct their inquiries to Aria. This streamlined process significantly reduces the time required to obtain search query answers.

Opera’s initial venture into the realm of AI occurred earlier in 2023 with the introduction of AI hints. These hints enabled users to seek explanations for articles and even facilitated the creation of posts for social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, among others.

The company has elucidated that the latest iteration of Opera’s Aria for iOS bestows users with the autonomy to interact with Aria services according to their preferences. It showcases the capability to provide intelligent, responsive, innovative voice command suggestions. Foremost, Opera Aria AI, iOS browser emphasizes both speed and security. It incorporates an integrated Ad Blocker to expedite webpage loading and features Apple’s Smart Tracking Prevention to thwart third-party tracking cookies.

To use Opera Aria AI on iOS, you’ll need the Opera Browser with AI, available on the App Store. The app necessitates account registration. Upon signing in, simply select “Aria Browser AI” from the menu icon located at the bottom.
