Tech giant “Microsoft” announced at the beginning of the week that it plans to make substantial investments in Australia over the next two years with the goal of increasing cloud computing capacity, fostering growth in artificial intelligence, and training new IT specialists in the country. The company intends to allocate 3.16 billion US dollars for this project.

Today's news marks the single largest investment we've made in our 40 years in Australia.

As part of this initiative, the company has committed to increasing the number of data centers in Australia from 20 to 29, resulting in a more than 250% increase in cloud computing capacity in the country. Additionally, the company aims to establish a data center academy to train new technicians and IT specialists in the country. In total, training opportunities are expected to benefit 300,000 Australians to help them succeed in digital economy professions.

“Microsoft” has also revealed that these 3.16 billion dollars in investments represent the company’s largest investment in Australia in its 40-year history. “Microsoft” President Brad Smith expressed the company’s commitment to fostering Australia’s growth and prosperity in the era of artificial intelligence.
