Apple opened pre-orders for the iPhone 15 smartphone lineup last Friday (15) in the United States, and orders for the iPhone 15 Pro Max in the series have exceeded Apple’s expectations, according to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
The professional stated that demand for the iPhone 15 Pro Max exceeded that of the iPhone 14 Pro Max during the equivalent period last year. However, demand for the iPhone 15 Pro is weaker than that of the iPhone 14 Pro, compared to 2022.
More Apple customers in the US are choosing to buy the top-of-the-line model this year. The iPhone 15 Pro Max exclusively features an upgraded telephoto lens with optical zoom of up to 5x, compared to up to 3x on the iPhone 15 Pro. It is also important to note that the price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max in the US starts at $1,199 for the 256 GB storage version, as Apple no longer offers the option of 128 GB of space for $1,099 for the Pro Max.
Kuo also highlighted that the iPhone 15 Pro Max entered mass production later than the other devices in the series, which contributed to shipping delays. The estimated delivery date for the devices in the US is only in November. The iPhone 15 family was announced by Apple on September 12th.
