Recently, we reported that Meta has been working on new implementations for WhatsApp, including changes to the interface for voice calls, enabling the sending of photos and videos in HD to all users, a new information page for communities, and more. However, one of the features that seems to be receiving special attention is the search tool, which was recently seen with an implementation to make it easier to search for channels, something that could be expanded to other areas of the messenger.
Now, with the Android update identified as WhatsApp beta 2.23.19.7, we have the potential implementation of expanding this functionality, allowing for group filtering and renaming the tab for individual chats from “personal” to “contacts.” Thanks to this specific implementation, the expectation is that it will become easier to focus on interactions within groups and respond more quickly to this type of chat.
This is likely to be beneficial for those who use groups for work or study, for example. For now, there is no specific timeline for the availability of this feature in the stable version of the app. However, considering Meta’s typical approach to rolling out WhatsApp updates, it’s possible to imagine that this will be available to all users in the coming months.
