In a surprising move, CD Projekt Red unveils a plethora of updates set to revolutionize Cyberpunk 2077 with the upcoming update 2.1, slated to drop on December 5 for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC alongside the Ultimate Edition. Among the headlining features is the highly anticipated inclusion of a subway system, a long-awaited addition teased in the game’s original trailer and the cinematic Phantom Liberty trailer but conspicuously absent from the gameplay until now.

Players will now traverse through a network of 19 subway stations, serving not only as swift travel points but also offering an authentic underground commuting experience. Interestingly, gamers can opt to skip parts of their subway journey if they prefer, adding a touch of flexibility to this new mode of transportation.

Five operational subway lines will crisscross Night City, all viewable on a metro map. Access to this transportation system will unlock post the Konpeki Plaza sequence, triggered when players receive a call from the metro director

Music Beyond Vehicles and Boss Fights Beefed Up

A quirky addition awaits players as radios can now be enjoyed outside vehicles, barring specific dialogue or pivotal in-game musical moments that heighten scene immersion. Expect this nifty feature to automatically switch off during these instances.

Combat enthusiasts will delight in improved boss battles, particularly the showdown against Adam Smasher, promised to be more challenging and adrenaline-pumping than ever before.

Racing, Romancing, and Riding in Style

The update doesn’t stop there. Additional pursuits and repeatable car races will join the fray, accessible upon completion of Claire Russell’s initial three races. Victories in these races will grant discounts on Autofixer, enticing players with reduced prices for new wheels.

As if that’s not enough, CD Projekt Red sweetens the deal by adding five new motorcycles and Johnny Silverhand’s Porsche 911. Rumors suggest players might snag this iconic car through a new mission.

Enhancements in motorcycle gameplay mechanics enable daredevil stunts, including the ability to throw knives and axes while tearing through the city on two wheels.

The previously barren highway section in Night City has received a facelift, now bustling with life and functional traffic, creating a more immersive environment.

Accessibility and Unveiling Night City’s Secrets

Acknowledging diverse player needs, the studio introduces accessibility options within Cyberpunk 2077, consolidating previous settings into a dedicated menu. New features, such as disabling the timer in hacking minigames, supplement existing accessibility tweaks.
