The AMD Ryzen 8700G is an 8-core processor with Radeon Vega iGPU graphics, intended for laptops and low-power motherboard systems. It’s a very interesting processor, but its operational temperature can be a problem for some users, especially for those seeking to extract maximum performance from the component.

Fortunately, there is a solution to this problem: delidding. This is the process of removing the silicone lid from the processor, allowing the die to come into direct contact with the heat sink. This can result in a significant temperature reduction, which can improve the processor’s performance.

YouTuber Der8auer recently published a video showing the delidding of the Ryzen 8700G. He managed to reduce the processor’s temperature by up to 25 degrees Celsius, resulting in a performance increase of up to 17%.
