Since its release, countless features of the Sci-Fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077 have either evolved or vanished altogether. The days of armor ratings tied to clothing, dictated outfit looks, and endless cyberware upgrades without deeper customization are long gone. Even crafting has become much more accessible. Where once we had to pour countless skill points into Technical Ability just to create items, it’s now a breeze.
More Role-Playing in Cyberpunk 2077: A New Mod for Crafting
However, some fans aren’t thrilled with these changes in Cyberpunk 2077. They crave immersion, they seek role-playing… with all its cumbersome quirks. A new mod caters to these desires, adding more enjoyment by introducing a more intricate crafting system.
The modder known as deceptious has unveiled his creation, “Immersive Crafting Access,” on the major mod platform NexusMods. The mod’s functionality can be broken down simply:
- While you can still dismantle items anywhere, you’ll receive about 30% fewer resources unless you’re at your “Stash” (the storage option in your apartment) or possess the relevant Tech skill.
- Crafting is restricted to a Stash location (including your car!) or if V has the corresponding Tech skill.
- The “Technical Ability” skill “All Things Cyber” has been altered by the mod, though its original function remains intact. Additionally, Level 1 removes the dismantling penalty when away from a Stash, and Level 2 allows you to craft anywhere, even without a Stash.
You can check the official Cyberpunk 2077 build planner to see where this skill is located and how it fits with your build.
