CMF Takes Center Stage

Nothing’s recent focus has been directed towards the launch of its derivative brand, CMF by Nothing. This venture, initially announced in India, is set to debut in France this December. The inaugural products, namely the Watch Pro and the Buds Pro, are scheduled to hit the market on December 18th. Amidst this spotlight on CMF, the brand’s primary offering remains the Phone (2), a meticulously crafted mid-range model complementing its predecessor, the Phone (1), introduced a year earlier and still held within the company’s product lineup.

Nothing new smartphone 📱 and new battery 🔋 listed on BIS Indian certification website.

A New Addition in the Works?

However, murmurs in the tech sphere hint at the potential addition of a third device to Nothing’s repertoire. Abhishek Yadav, a prominent leaker renowned on X, unearthed evidence of a new smartphone bearing the insignia of Nothing. This clandestine appearance occurred on December 1st, 2023, on the site of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), responsible for certifying product quality in India—a pivotal market for the brand.

An elusive product, labeled A142, was sighted, bearing a resemblance to the Phone (2) (A065) and the Phone (1) (A063). Speculations arise, indicating a possible expansion of Nothing’s product line in the first half of 2024. It is expected to be christened the Nothing Phone (2a), possibly presenting itself as a more affordable alternative, similar to Google’s Pixel 7a in relation to the Pixel 7.

Envisioning the Device

For a sneak peek into the anticipated device, one must rely on leaks from seasoned specialists. Sanju Choudhary, another figure in the realm of X, speculates that the smartphone will boast a 6.7-inch Amoled display.

Additionally, leaks suggest the device’s back will incorporate the LED system, a defining design element of Nothing smartphones. However, significant details, such as the processing chip at its core, remain shrouded in mystery, leaving much to the imagination in anticipation of this upcoming smartphone.
