Meta has joined forces with Oakley to launch a new line of AI smart glasses. The flagship Oakley Meta HSTN model will cost $499 and open for preorder on July eleventh. Other designs with the same technology will arrive later this summer, starting at $399.

Design Built for Performance

These Oakley frames carry the classic look athletes know and trust. The glasses offer an IPX4 splash resistance rating, so they stand up to sweat and light rain. The integrated speakers sit near the ears for clear sound without blocking ambient noise. Microphones capture voice and the world around you. All five frame and lens combinations work with prescription inserts for those who need vision correction.

AI and Camera Capabilities

The front-facing camera now records in three K resolution, up from the earlier one zero eight zero P. After pairing with a phone, the glasses can play music or podcasts on the go. They can also make calls and connect to Meta AI. The AI can answer questions about what the wearer sees or translate languages in real time. This hands-free access to Meta AI aims to keep users focused on their task rather than a screen.

Long Life and Reliable Power

Battery life runs up to 8 hours of active use on a single charge. The charging case holds enough power for six full charges. That means up to 48 hours of juice when you need it. This is twice the running time of the earlier Ray‑Ban smart glasses.

Pricing Availability and Plans

The limited edition HSTN will carry gold accents and special PRIZM lenses for $499. Standard models start at $399 in warm grey, black, brown smoke, and clear frames. Oakley and Meta aim for broad release in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and a dozen other markets this summer.

Meta and Oakley see this launch as the start of a deeper push into performance eyewear. Alex Himel, head of wearables at Meta, calls these the first steps into a new category. As demand for smart glasses grows, the two companies expect to bring more features and form factors to athletes and everyday users alike.
