Overview of Both Models

Most people chose the Xiaomi Mi M365 scooter when looking for an electric scooter. Many riders chose it because they hoped to find a secure and economical way to cover close areas. This scooter is equipped with 8.5-inch tires and it also folds for easy storage. In response to high demand, the Xiaomi M365 Pro arrived as a stronger version of the Mi M365. It uses the same frame and folding system but adds a more powerful motor. The Pro also boasts a larger battery and a smaller display. The result is more range and quicker acceleration while keeping much of what riders liked in the original.

Design and Build Quality

The scooters have an identical sleek and minimalist design. An aluminum alloy is used for the frame which reduces its weight yet ensures it remains solid. All scooters fold in exactly the same manner. The stem can be collapsed and attached to the rear fender by riders. Therefore, carrying a laptop is simpler on transport or placing it in a small spot.

Deck design is very similar on these boats. There’s enough space within the bus for people to feel comfortable while standing. The Pro model is built with a little more length and width. The shift increases room for the rider’s feet and helps keep the bike more stable.

Both types of bikes have 8.5 inch pneumatic tires. They shield passengers from bumps on the road and provide a comfortable experience. The handlebar grips are sturdy but soft enough so the ride is comfortable for a long period. Brake levers are positioned and feel the same as well. The rear disc brake and a front electronic regenerative brake are used to slow down any scooter.

Motor and Performance

The design of the motors below the deck is the main difference between the two designs. Mi M35 uses motors that reach 250 watts of power and can take them up to 500 watts for a short time. The motor makes it possible for riders to reach up to 16 miles per hour. I noticed that the speed of the Mi M365 is steady but pretty slow. It generally takes a car 6.3 seconds to travel 15 miles per hour when there is no hill.

The M365 Pro has a 300-watt motor with a peak of 600 watts. Electric bikes make it simpler to climb moderate hills. It also shortens acceleration times. In our tests the Pro model reached 15 miles per hour in about 5.3 seconds. Riders notice that speed builds more quickly when pushing the throttle. Top speed remains similar at around 16 miles per hour.

When testing hill climbs the Mi M365 climbed a steady incline in 20.8 seconds. The Pro completed the same climb in 15.6 seconds. This difference means the Pro handles steeper paths with less strain. Riders who face hilly terrain will feel the extra power advantage.

Battery Life and Range

The battery pack is another major difference between the two models. The Mi M365 has a 280-watt hour battery. Actually testing vehicles gives an average range of about 14.6 miles one charge in distance. The speed and the environment play a huge role in discovering the ideal range. On even roads, lighter people might travel a little further at the same tempo as heavier riders do when cycling uphill.

The Pro uses a larger 474-watt hour battery. In our range tests this led to about 25.1 miles of real world travel per charge. The extra battery size allows riders to go nearly twice as far in similar conditions. Riders who need longer trips to work, school, or errands find the Pro’s range appealing.

Battery charging times are similar. The Mi M365 takes roughly five hours to charge from empty to full. The Pro, with its larger battery, may need up to seven hours for a full charge using the same charger. Riders can also purchase a second charger to cut total charging time in half.

Ride Comfort and Handling

Ride comfort depends on more than just wheels. The deck size and handlebar layout also affect how riders feel. The Pro’s slightly larger deck gives riders more space to shift footing. This helps maintain balance on longer rides. The Mi M365 deck feels a bit snug in comparison but still offers enough room for most riders.

The rubber grips on each handlebar absorb some road vibration. Both scooters sit at a similar height which makes standing natural for most adult heights. Riders notice that the Pro feels a bit more planted due to its larger deck and slightly higher weight. That stability may appeal to beginners learning to balance.

Because neither model has built in suspension riders feel bumps in the road. The pneumatic tires help smooth out minor cracks and bumps. For larger obstacles riders must slow down or step off to avoid jolts. Riders who frequently ride on rough or uneven pavement may wish to add aftermarket suspension seats or shock pads.

Steering is the same on both models. Turning tight corners is easy if riders lean slightly. Widening the stance helps when making sharper turns. The Pro’s heavier weight can feel more steady in corners but also requires more effort to tilt at low speeds.

Portability and Storage

Portability matters for riders who commute or store scooters in small spaces. The Mi M365 weighs about 27 pounds. The lighter weight makes it easier to carry up stairs or onto a bus. The folded dimensions fit under many desks and in small corner storage areas.

The Pro weighs in at about 31 pounds. This extra four pounds comes from the larger battery and stronger motor. Riders can still carry the Pro with one hand but may prefer to sling it over a shoulder using an added carrying strap. Folded size remains almost the same which means the Pro still tucks into small spaces.

When unfolded both models measure roughly 42 inches tall and 17 inches wide at the handlebars. Their similar size makes storage straightforward. Riders can hang them on hooks or rely on built in kickstands to lean them against walls in an apartment or garage.

Safety Features

Both models use the same safety features to keep riders secure. The combined braking system lets riders use either the electronic brake or the rear disc brake. The electronic brake on the front wheel helps generate energy and also slows the scooter without sudden jolts. Pulling the rear disc brake lever engages the metal rotor to stop quickly and smoothly.

Reflective strips appear on the rear fender for visibility at night. Each scooter also has a bright headlight shining up to 15 feet ahead. The rear brake light turns on when slowing or braking so riders behind can see them clearly in low light.

The Pro adds a small LCD display above the handlebars. Riders can see speed, battery percentage, and ride mode at a glance. The Mi M365 has only a single LED that shows battery level in three colors. Both designs keep riders informed but the Pro offers more precise information.

Rider weight limits are identical for both models at 220 pounds. Taller riders of six feet or more can still ride but should remain cautious of inclined angles and leg position over the deck when leaning. Riders must also wear a good quality helmet and avoid riding in the rain to prevent slips.

Pricing and Value

When these scooters launched the Mi M365 sold around four hundred dollars on sale. That price made it a solid value for riders wanting an entry level electric scooter. With the cost of materials and inflation prices may have shifted but it remains an affordable option.

The Pro carried an MSRP of six hundred eighty dollars. On sale it often dropped under five hundred fifty dollars. The larger battery and stronger motor help justify the higher cost. For riders who need extra range and power the Pro offered greater value despite the higher price.

Both scooters no longer appear in 2023 new on major retail sites. Riders looking for similar models can view an updated Editor Choice list of best Xiaomi Mi M365 alternatives. These alternatives often build on the same base frame while offering upgraded batteries or suspension.

Xiaomi Mi M365 versus M365 Pro in Real World Tests

In Rider Guide tests the Mi M365 reached a top speed of sixteen point seven miles per hour. Range tested at fourteen point six miles on a single charge. It climbed a twenty degree incline in twenty point eight seconds. Acceleration from zero to fifteen miles per hour took six point three seconds. The scooter came to a complete stop from fifteen miles per hour in sixteen point eight feet of distance.

The M365 Pro reached a top speed of sixteen miles per hour. Its range tested at twenty five point one miles per charge. The Pro completed the same hill climb in fifteen point six seconds. Its zero to fifteen time measured five point three seconds. The stopping distance from fifteen miles per hour was fifteen point three feet.

These tests show the Pro’s stronger motor and bigger battery yield real improvements. Yet weight and cost also increase. Riders should choose based on which benefits matter most.

Xiaomi Mi M365 versus Xiaomi M365 Pro Verdict

Both scooters share the same frame, folding system, and core design. Yet the Pro adds a more powerful motor, longer battery life, and a small information display. This makes it a clear upgrade for riders who need that extra range and acceleration.

For most riders the Xiaomi Mi M365 Pro wins for overall value when priced under five hundred fifty dollars. It offers a longer ride per charge and climbs hills faster. The Pro’s larger deck and more precise display add comfort and confidence. However, riders on a tight budget or those who value a lighter scooter may still choose the Mi M365. It remains a solid performer with easy portability and lower cost around four hundred dollars on sale. Beginners might find it a good way to start before upgrading to a Pro version down the road
