Google AI Magic Lands First on Honor’s Budget Phones

Taking pictures is always fun, but what if you could turn them into a video with a single tap? Honor’s new 400 series phones, out May 22, 2025, can actually do that. These phones take Google’s AI technology to generate 5-second videos from your pictures. Whether it is your pet, a sunset, or a family photo, the AI adds action to make it come to life.

How the Tool Works

The Honor 400 phones use a tool called AI Image to Video. You pick a photo from your gallery, and the phone sends it to Google’s AI system. The AI adds movement automatically. For example, a photo of a person might make them smile or blink. A picture of a river could show flowing water.

The tool is part of the phone’s Gallery app. You do not need to download anything extra. Videos can be made in a minute or two. You can share them directly to applications such as Instagram or TikTok.

Who Will Love This Feature

  • Social media fans
Turn vacation photos into fun videos for stories or reels.
  • Small business owners
Create quick ads or product demos without hiring an editor.
  • Families
Make old photos feel new by adding motion to memories.

Honor says this tool saves time for people who need fast content. Eric Fang, a leader at Honor, shared that even marketers can use it for ads.

What the Tool Cannot Do

The AI is smart but not perfect. It cannot read your mind. It cannot read your mind. If you want to see your dog jumping in a video, the AI could guess in the wrong direction. Tests show mixed results. For instance, a picture of a painting became a video with a bird coming from nowhere into the painting.

You get 10 free video tries per day for the first two months. After that, you might need to pay, but Honor has not shared prices yet.

Your Photos Stay Safe

Honor promises that your photos and videos are sent to Google’s computers, not stored on your phone. Google will not use your pictures to train its AI.

More Cool AI Tools

The Honor 400 series also includes:

  • AI Outpainting
Make your photos bigger. For example, turn a close-up portrait into a wide landscape.
  • AI Eraser
Remove strangers or objects from photos, even in busy scenes.

You do not need an Honor account to use these tools now, but some features might require one later.

Why Cheaper Phones Are Getting Fancy AI

Most fancy AI tools come only on expensive phones. Honor is changing this by adding Google’s AI to its budget-friendly 400 series. This could push other brands like Samsung to put AI in cheaper phones too.

Why This Matters for Phone Users

Phones are becoming more than just cameras. They are turning into creative tools. Honor’s new feature shows how AI can make everyday tasks fun and easy. This tool may alter the way you use your phone, whether you are a teen sharing memes or just a parent saving memories.
