Claude is an AI assistant made by Anthropic to help people with work and research. The company has focused on safety, accuracy, and giving users control over their data. Now, Anthropic has brought two big updates to Claude that change how it finds and uses information.
Research Feature in Claude
Research in Claude can run multiple searches that build on each other to explore a topic deeply. The AI uses an agentic approach to plan its queries, gather results, and check sources without user prompts at every step. Responses include citations so users can click through to verify the information themselves. Anthropic aims to complete a research cycle in under five minutes so users can stay in their workflow.

Google Workspace Integration
This new integration lets Claude connect to a user’s Google Workspace account when the user enables it. Claude can read Gmail messages, search Google Docs for details, and check Calendar events. After gathering work data and web info, Claude can draft an email, save a document, or suggest calendar entries for the user to review. Admins on Team and Enterprise plans must first activate Workspace access for their organization before individuals can link their accounts.
How to Use Research
To try the Research tool, users should open Claude’s settings and turn on the Research option. Then users type a question and click the Research button before sending the query. Claude will run searches on the web and within the user’s Workspace if allowed. A slider in the Adjust menu lets users choose how much depth they want in the results. Once Claude finishes, it shows a summary with links to each source for easy checking.

Benefits for Users
These updates bring many new possibilities for people at work. Researchers can get up‑to‑date info without jumping between apps. Teams can quickly assemble meeting notes, find action items, and draft follow‑up emails in seconds. Having both Workspace and web data in one place saves time and cuts down on mistakes. Users can trust the findings because Claude always shows the sources for each fact.
Anthropic calls these updates just the beginning of a broader plan to deepen Claude’s understanding and reporting power. In the coming weeks, the company will add more content sources and expand the range of research tasks Claude can handle. As the tools roll out to more regions and tiers of service, they may reshape how people get work done with AI assistance.
